Old accessories designs

First ideas

Inspired by trends. Clay art was the in thing and I was also obsessed with a few artists who sold these things. I bought $40 earrings from a self-thought artist, Theforestmori, and I do not regret my choices. I thought, If she can do it, I could too. Hence I set out on this hopeful dream of creating my own little side hustle.

I wanted to ensure my "brand" was coherent when it came to color scheme and aesthetics. I also wanted to ensure that there will be a variety of posts such as product shots, videos, model shots, close-up shots, and drawings.

Instagram feed visualisation

I did try to create one of my ideas. I have all the materials for it and I still do. It just became apparent that my ideas cannot be executed with the medium I started with. I was also very ambitious from the start and it burnt me out fast. Did I try another way to achieve my ideas? no. I just could not find a solution other than mass production and plastics which at the time was not realistic either because I had no money.

Reminder: Be realistic (when you need to)

Discovery of metal clay

I still wanted to create accessories and I happen to stumble across 'metal clay'. It piqued my interest and all the videos I watched made it seem it was easy to do. Started sketching out ideas until I did more research on the material cost and I thought, well I still don't have much money and this is a risk. Would the risk be worth it? Will it lead to something more? The verdict was no. So this phase passed as well.

Enameled Jewelry ideas

Looking for new inspiration for things I can possibly do on my own at home. I found 'enameled jewelry' There are several methods to this. All of these require a high-temperature oven which I could afford yet this is another one of those risks that I question myself if I would be willing to take. I am still debating on it. I like some of my designs and believe they would turn beautifully, especially the rings. Note for the future possibly?

Random sketches

More new ideas that turn into old ideas.

Wholesale idea

My last latest phase was manufacturing and buying wholesale products. Still possible but I did not find my ideas inspiring and there is always the question, will anyone buy these? does this count as my design if I buy wholesale? Is it meaningful? Is it of quality?

This is not the end though. With more time I think I would eventually land on a perfect balance. I find I need more time and more experience. Currently, I am still ideating and I feel like what I am currently sketching is something the mass markets would like. Or so I hope. Or is this another phase?
